Spindizzy Technologies/ASX Trader Pro
SIX PORTFOLIOS · LIVE SCORING · FIFO CGT
Personal build · live daily use

Test the strategy on six virtual portfolios before it touches a dollar of yours.

ASX Trader Pro runs six AI-managed virtual portfolios — each a different risk profile — so a scoring-based strategy proves itself before it trades real money. On the real side, it imports your CMC Markets history, tracks dividends and franking credits, and calculates FIFO capital gains tax with CPI indexation, ready for your accountant.

the story

Built by one ASX investor, for his own portfolio

This wasn't built to sell — it was built to answer one real question: which stocks deserve real money. The virtual trading system exists because rules-based scoring can look right on paper and still make bad calls, like repeatedly buying weak stocks near multi-month lows. That exact failure, caught in real use, became the momentum-penalty fix now built into the engine.

The CGT engine handles FIFO lot matching, capital loss offsetting, brokerage in the cost base, ATO rounding, and the dual pre/post-1 July 2027 tax regime — because those are the exact numbers needed at tax time, every year. The CMC Markets importer was built against CMC's actual export quirks. This is a live tool — stale stop-loss prices, trailing stops firing on day one, state bugs — all fixed after being caught doing the wrong thing in daily use.

who it's for

Built for self-managed ASX investors, not fund managers

Individual ASX investors validating a systematic strategy before committing real capital
Dividend and franking-credit focused investors — scored on yield and payout, not pure momentum
CMC Markets clients specifically — the import pipeline is built for CMC's export format
Self-managed investors who do their own (or their accountant's) CGT
Comfortable running a local Python/Streamlit app — a personal desktop tool, not a hosted product
Not built for: fund managers, advisers, or anyone on a platform that already calculates CGT for them.
why it's different

Eight things a spreadsheet can't do

01

Six virtual portfolios, six risk profiles

Conservative through Speculative and Micro all trade the same stock universe under the same scoring engine — so you compare how the logic behaves across risk tolerances instead of guessing from one backtest.

02

A multi-signal scoring engine

Trade decisions weigh market regime, relative strength, analyst consensus, dividend growth, and quality metrics together. No single noisy signal triggers a trade on its own.

03

Momentum-penalty scoring

Penalises stocks in the bottom 35% of their 52-week range, after the system was caught buying weak stocks near their lows.

04

Stops that only fire when they should

Trailing stops activate only after a position clears a profit threshold. Stop-losses no longer silently disable when price data goes missing.

05

CGT calculated the way the ATO requires

FIFO lot matching, capital loss offsetting, brokerage in cost base, ATO rounding, live ABS CPI indexation, and the dual pre/post-1 July 2027 regime.

06

CMC import that handles the messy real format

Automatically extracts BUY/SELL from CMC's combined cash-flow export, calculates real brokerage, and maps dividend company names to tickers.

07

Dividend and franking-aware analysis

Every stock lookup surfaces yield, franking %, grossed-up yield, and payout ratio alongside P/E, ROE, debt/equity and 52-week range.

08

Local-first, data-owned architecture

Runs against your own SQLite database and Google Sheet, backed up to Dropbox. Your trade history is never sent to a third party.
