the story

Built to solve one person's actual problem

Built by a practicing home herbalist who formulates and takes his own tinctures daily — this isn't a demo app, it's the tool actively running his own formula library, batch schedule, and inventory. It grew out of a genuine safety problem: juggling internal-use tinctures alongside external/toxic-only preparations.

Larger fonts and high-contrast layouts exist because the builder has poor eyesight and needed an interface he could actually read at a glance. Honest caveat: this is a personal tool in active development, not a polished commercial product yet.

Batches carry a start date and duration, auto-calculate an expected finish date, and move themselves into inventory.

Inventory feeds back into recipes

A finished batch can be promoted straight into a reusable recipe with one action.

Experiments logged against real recipes

Each experiment links to the base tincture(s) it modifies, with dated notes.

Category and name filtering

As the recipe list grows past a shelf's worth, tags and live search keep it usable.

Full local backup and restore

One "Full Backup" produces a timestamped zip of every recipe, experiment, batch, and setting.

Built for a real accessibility need
